We wanted to make you aware of the situation just in case this item is on the news or in the press this weekend. Please try not to call the surgery in order to keep the phone lines available for medical issues.

Please click on the link above for help and advice regarding your medical condition. Your query should be non-urgent and we will respond to you within 2 working days.
Please help us to keep services running in these difficult times for those who need it most by directing your request to the right place.
- COVID tests – we CANNOT arrange these tests, please visit 111.nhs.uk or ring 119.
- Isolation notes – visit 111.nhs.uk/isolation-note.
- Surgery appointments – all initial contact appointments with the GP will be via telephone, if the doctor then needs to see you then they will arrange this with you. Also please don’t forget that our receptionists must ask you a few questions and this is for the GP’s information before they speak to you.
- Prescriptions – as always prescriptions will be ready in 2 working days after your request. Please DO NOT call the surgery to check that this has been done. Speak to your pharmacist directly and keep our phone lines free for medical problems. If you have not signed up to a pharmacy yet or patient access then we urge you to do so. There are still a lot of patients coming to surgery just to drop a prescription off or pick one up.
- Hospital appointments – If you are awaiting a hospital appointment and have been put on a list we have no control over the waiting times. Please DO NOT call us for the doctor to expedite this. If the GP thinks your problem is urgent then they will refer you as such.
- Blood tests – If your hospital consultant wants you to have blood tests then please advise them that they will have to take them. At the moment due to current COVID manpower issues we are unable to carry out secondary care bloods at the surgery.
Thank you and stay safe

Patients who are registered with an Oldham GP can now make an appointment to see a GP in the evenings and at weekends. This may not be your own GP but a copy of the consultation will be sent to your Practice. At your appointment the GP will be able to see some of your medical records so that they are able to advise you accurately.

Please remember that for treatment of minor ailments your local pharmacist will be able to advise you on the appropriate treatment. Your local Pharmacy will also be able to advise on medication queries and can sometimes help with emergency repeat prescriptions.
Please remember that A&E is for Accidents and Emergency attendance only. Please try to use one of the above health care professional contacts if your illness is not an emergency.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE ANY ADVICE ON THE SERVICES THAT ARE AVAILABLE WHEN THE PRACTICE IS CLOSED PLEASE ASK AT RECEPTION.
Walk in Centre
Due to the pandemic, the Walk-in Centre (WiC) based at the Integrated Care Centre (ICC) on New Radcliffe Street remains closed until further notice to protect patients, staff and public.
The ICC now houses a COVID Assessment Centre which is open 8am until 8pm 7 days a week and cares for patients with potential COVID-19 symptoms. It also houses a Digital Hub which provides support to Oldham Care Homes and provides urgent care (within 2 hours) to patients referred to the service by a health and social care professional. Both services are by appointment only following a referral from a healthcare professional or NHS111.
If we are unable to offer you an appointment but you require urgent medical attention, you should contact NHS111 and, depending on your situation you will:
- Find out what local service can help you
- connected to a nurse, emergency dentist, pharmacist or GP
- Get a face-to-face appointment if you need one
- Be given an arrival time if you need to go to A&E – this might mean you spend less time in A&E
- Be told how to get any medicine you need
- Get self-care advice
